Choosing a POS System in Zimbabwe: The Buyer Guide

Last updated: July 12, 2026

What actually matters in a Zimbabwean POS

POS marketing everywhere looks the same. Trading in Zimbabwe is not the same. This guide covers the criteria that matter here – and gives you a checklist to hold against any vendor, including us.

Dual currency done properly

Your POS must price, sell, and report cleanly in both USD and ZWG, apply your daily rate, and keep the currency of tender honest on every receipt. Anything that treats multi-currency as an afterthought will hurt you at reconciliation time.

Payments people actually use

Cash, EcoCash and other mobile money, swipe. If a POS cannot record the payment methods your customers actually use, your end-of-day figures are fiction.

Offline resilience

Load-shedding and network outages are operating conditions, not edge cases. A POS that stops selling when the internet drops is not fit for purpose here. Look for true offline mode with automatic sync.

Fiscalisation readiness

Even if you are not fiscalised today, choose a POS that already interfaces with ZIMRA FDMS – otherwise fiscalisation later means changing systems entirely. Learn more in our complete fiscalisation guide.

Receipt printing without drama

Bluetooth thermal printers are the practical choice for most tills. Check the POS supports your printer before buying either. See our guide to Android POS hardware that works locally.
